Hey there, Party people!

I want to keep it completely and utterly real and down to earth with you .. I find writing these about me sections completely nerve racking! I consider myself a story teller, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to tell someone elses story then your own.

So to strip down to the core of who I am and give you a 5 second glimpse of my life, is REALLY FREAKING scaryyyy.. but, here goes nothing!

Hi! My names Amanda, I am the owner of Scottiebe Photo, but first and foremost I am a wife, a Momma to two crazy kiddos and a german shep pup named Penny! I am a creative, plain and simple. In school, I took every art class offered to me, which eventually led me to initially majoring in Fashion design and merchandising in my short lived, college carreer. A few semesters in married my highschool sweet heart and packed my bags and headed to good ol’ North Carolina where my life as a USMC wife led me to picking up a camera and documenting my day to day with my son. As my husband was away often, photographing the ins and outs of our lives kept him in the loop and gave him the opportunity to be a part of the moments that he wasn’t able to be present for. Same went for my family, being we lived such a distance away! I knew that if photographs were giving my family this gift, that I wanted to do the same for others as well. Just like that, it all began. With every shoot I did, I narrowed it down more and more to where my passion in photography lyed. Now, 8 years into my photography career I specialize in Weddings, elopements, couples and portrait photography. Based out of Buffalo NY, I travel as frequently as I possibly can shooting weddings and couples near and far, but always find comfort in the stillness of being home. There is nothing I love more then frothing up a cup of coffee, and having a dance party with this wild little crew of mine… aka, our morning routine.

I can not begin to explain the importance photographs have played within my own life. Through loss, grief, joys, and all of lifes adventures.. and so I find, being asked to document someones memories and given the opportunity as one of the highest compliments. For the time we are together I get a window into your life that others may not get to ever see as up close and personal as I get to witness. I truly cherish those intimate moments I get to photograph and the stories I get to tell through my work that they get to pass along to their families through generations. It’s extremely humbling and not a job I take lightly.
