Kacie + Mike | Wedding | Spring Lake Winery

Kacie & Mike! OHHH what a day what a day!! For this post, I’m going to do things a little different. Typically I will tell you all about their spectacular day and then post a few images that I really love. However with Kacie and Mikes wedding day, I truly have no words that could correctly depict how perfect it truly was. I knew from the moment I read their epic proposal that I was the photographer for them.. no matter what what curbs get in the way in life, these two will always get to the top of that mountain together. Read their proposal story below to understand what the heck I’m talking about, and let the photos from their Big day, tell the rest of their beautiful story!

The Proposal | “Our proposal took place in Acadia, Maine on Pemetic Mountain. We were going on an ordinary camping trip to go hiking (so I thought) like we do every year. Mike was especially crazy about getting every detail perfect, but I didn't think anything of it because he does that for every trip we go on. To be honest the day we got engaged started out as a disaster. We got into a fight over Mike hitting a parking curb with my new car, we underestimated how hard the hike up the mountain would be, and ended up fighting majority of the way up. But by the time we reached the top of the mountain we were crying from laughing so hard because it was so windy. I thought that I was actually going to blow right off of the mountain. Mike kept saying that we needed to find the "highest peak on the mountain for the best view". When we finally reached that point Mike set up our go pro and made it seem as if we were just taking a picture but it was really on video mode. Mike got down on one knee and I truly thought he was messing with me and I told him to get up (another thing we enjoy laughing at...now), but then I saw the tiny wooden box and I knew he wasn't joking. He had made a ring box with the exact coordinates to where we were standing engraved on it. My reply was... "of course!" He still makes fun of me for that. We thankfully managed to record the entire thing despite the high winds. I think the proposal fits us perfectly and I wouldn't change a thing, even the not so great morning and deathly ladders we had to climb on the way down the mountain. Mike knew that all I wanted was for it to be in complete privacy and somewhere beautiful, nothing else that occurred earlier even mattered anymore. All we cared about in that moment was how much we loved each other and how excited we were to start the rest of our lives together. Life never really goes as planned and a proposal doesn't have to be flawless to be perfect. That is why I love our story.”
